Heart Answers:
1.Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) (heart lung machine) If the heart is pumping a ventilator will do.
2. It depends on the extent of the damage. If the cut impairs blood flow the person will eventually die.
3. They cut the sternum and spread the ribcage.
4. It effects the CSN including the cerebellum which has a role in controlling respiration, so signals to the heart via the vagus nerve are impaired.
5. CO from burning tobacco, respiratory damage due to the tars and nicotine paralyzes the cilia in the respiratory tree and nicotine causes peripheral vasoconstriction which increases blood pressure

Circulatory System:
1. It causes vasodialation and lowered blood pressure
2. See heart response
3. It all depends; too wide open a question. AIDS is a syndrome (a collection of signs, symptoms and conditions) and there are many STDs
Some can affect the circulatory system and if they do there effects can be different.
4. It depends. The information I found claims one minute for someone at rest and 30 seconds if someone is active.
5. See response to question 4.
